TWO MORE DAYS!! I'm feeling super emo now. I can see it nearing me, the screams of joy and laughter filling the once-moody atmosphere of the hall, and everyone starting to jump up and down, and the frantic poundings of feet on the waxed and varnished floor...
But until then, it's Physics.
Still, I wanna thank the two impostors on my tag-board for making me famous, and I want to thank them for "hating myself" and "(being) the drummer of marksband and i rock! so does physics!"
Even though I hate Physics. Or dislike.
Yes and I have not touched on the more important topic. Something inessential, but something fairly important in our lives!
CHRISTMAS IS COMING!
Take out the banners, put up the decors, deck the halls with boughs of holy, tis' the perfect season to be jolly!
Many a times I tune in to the radio, immediately I hear songs of Christmas carols and it certainly brings back memories. I remember the times at my previous old apartment where we always had fun putting up the christmas tree, hanging the numerous tinklebells and coloured shiny balls, and of course, us trying to reach the top of the tree to plant the Angel!! It was my favourite time of my life, Christmas.
But as we all grow older, some of us really forget the essentialism of Christmas and its joyousness. How I wish we could all be children once again, with all the presents and smiles on our faces. And although we were small, we knew that our happiness painted on our faces would inevitably bring joy to our relatives and parents because our joy is their joy.
I have forgotten when was the last time I forsaken Christmas. Perhaps it was when I went into the Primary 6 stage, where bombardments of eensy bits of life's little pieces started to fall into my life eg. the need to be accepted by friends. It was then I lost the joy of Christmas, where I started to think, "Christmas is just another holiday what".
Truly, it is a holiday to non-christians, but it highlights the most important gift of Sharing. Don't forget, it is also the birthday of Jesus Christ!
So maybe one day during my very free holidays, I will decide to actually pop down to Orchard Road, ALONE on perhaps Christmas' Eve Eve Eve, (before it gets really crowded) and walk alone on the stretch of road. It will definitely bring back memories of the sweet childhood and hanging up of christmas trees and the like, and it will evidently evoke the warm and fuzzy feelings of the early years once again, and then once again, I'll feel like a child, celebrating Christmas with many gifts and toys, awaiting to open each present with the approval of our parents.
Let's all sing a Christmas carol!
O Come All Ye Faithful!
The text to the Carol O Come All Ye Faithful was originally written in Latin (Adeste Fideles) and was intended to be a hymn, it is attributed to John Wade, an Englishman. The music to O Come All Ye Faithful was composed by fellow Englishman John Reading in the early 1700s. The tune was first published in a collection known as "Cantus Diversi" in 1751. In 1841 Rev. Frederick Oakley is reputed to have worked on the familiar translation of O Come All Ye Faithful which replaced the older Latin lyrics "Adeste Fideles".
O Come All Ye Faithful
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of Angels;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
O Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing all that hear in heaven God's holy word.
Give to our Father glory in the Highest;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
All Hail! Lord, we greet Thee,
Born this happy morning,
O Jesus! for evermore be Thy name adored.
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
